60 Group I posts notified by state govt, TSPSC to release schedule soon
HYDERABAD: The dust on cancellation of Group I prelims twice and the question paper leakage has not settled down yet and the state govt has sanctioned 60 posts under Group I posts for taking up direct recruitment. The Telangana State Public Service Commission will fill up these posts along with the posts which were notified by the commission earlier.
The 60 posts notified on Tuesday include posts of three deputy collectors, 24 deputy superintendents of police, 19 mandal parishad development officers, four assistant excise superintendents, three deputy superintendents of jails, three district employment officers, two district panchayat officers, 1 district registrar and one assistant audit officer.
Issuing the GO, special chief secretary (finance) K Ramakrishna Rao said TSPSC will soon issue the notification and schedule for the recruitment. Congress govt, which has vowed to revamp TSPSC after coming to power, appointed former police boss M Mahendar Reddy as TSPSC new chairman to reform commission.
In the first Group I notification issued by TSPSC, 503 posts in 18 departments were notified in April 2022 and prelims exams was conducted on October 16 in the same year. Following the question paper leakage and SIT taking up probe, the previous BRS govt cancelled the exams in March 2023.
For the second time, Group I prelims exams were held on June 11, 2023, which were again cancelled by Telangana HC following procedural lapses by the TSPSC.
