6 held over woman’s death after eating momos at stall in B’ Hills
Hyderabad: Six persons running a momos stall in Banjara Hills have been arrested for the death of woman who died after eating it. The woman's two daughters and several others had also suffered food poisoning after eating momos from there stall.
All the six accused, Almas (23), Sajid Hussain, Md Raees, Md Sharukh, Md Haneef (21), and Md Rajik (19), hail from Bihar, according to Banjara Hills police.
They have been charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Their stall has also been sealed by the cops.
According to the police, the woman, Reshma Begum (31), and her two daughters had fallen sick soon after eating the momos and Reshma died on Oct 27. The children recovered later. Police investigation revealed that over 20 others also fell sick after eating momos from the same stall. The accused have been remanded to judicial custody, Banjara Hills ACP S Venkat Reddy said.
The outlet was sealed by GHMC after the incident and samples were also collected and sent for analysis. Police are also awaiting the pme report to know the exact cause of death
