The long delayed report, a copy of which is with TOI, was submitted to the House Committee on Monday.

The issue was raised in the last two assembly sessions by the

Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen

(MIM) legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi and a preparation of a detailed report on the issue was instructed by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. According to figures, at least 45 board employees are related to each other. Some have their sons or other relatives such as brothers and brothers-in-law working as colleagues in various departments or sections. For instance, Mohammed Mansoor Ahmed, who is working as superintendent, has three brothers-in-law working in the qazath and Imam and Muezzin Honorarium sections of the board. The case of Syed Shakeel Hasan, employed as junior assistant, is similar. Hasan's brother, Aqeel Hasan, is working as superintendent of the Right to Information section.

What is more is that Aqeel Hasan's son is working in the Imam and Muezzin Honorarium section of the Telangana State Waqf Board. When contacted, House Committee member and MIM legislator, Akbaruddin Owaisi, told TOI: “We will demand a CBCID or vigilance probe in the matter. The issue is very serious as there have been large-scale irregularities.“

The curious case of employing relatives is also seen right under the nose of the Telangana Sate Waqf Board chairman, Mohammed Saleem. Information reveals that a person named Aqeel is employed in the chairman's peshi.
