HYDERABAD: The murder of an MRPS activist from Nagole nearly two weeks was solved by cops with the arrest on Thursday of four persons, including the main accused, a local CPI leader. Personal enmity and disputes over settlements led to the murder, LB Nagar police said
P Bhanu Chander (30), a centring worker from Sai Nagar Colony in Nagole, was murdered near Tirumalgiri in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district on April 16 and his body was dumped in the left canal of Nagarjuna Sagar near Paleru Reservoir in Khammam.

Based on Chander’s wife’s complaint, police started the probe and picked up some suspects who revealed that he had been murdered. Chander’s body was later located by Raghunadhapalem police of Khammam.
On Thursday, LB Nagar police arrested Kandula Sudhakar (48), a CPI local leader from Mansoorabad, K Yadagiri (60), Md Yaqoob Pasha (42) and G Rayudu (29) from Sai Nagar Colony. Two other accused, Chandu Nayak and Md Munna, are absconding.
“The accused held a grudge against Chander as he was allegedly doing independent settlements in Sai Nagar colony and also spreading rumours to tarnish their image,” ACP Sridhar Reddy said.
After coming to know that he was going to attend a wedding on April 16 in Pedda Vangara village, the accused met at the CPI local office at Sai Nagar Colony on April 15 where they hatched the plan to kill Chander, the ACP said.
The accused asked Chander to come for some work at Adda Guduru, which is close to where he was supposed to go for the wedding, and proposed to travel together. They picked Chander on April 16 morning and around 1 pm they stopped the car near Patimaltla close to the Mothkur-Tirumalagiri road to drink where he was attacked on the head with iron rods, cops said. The accused then shifted him to the car dicky and proceeded towards Khammam to dispose the body. But Chander regained consciousness and hearing the noise, the accused attacked him with rods, killing him on the spot near Tirumalagiri, cops said.
