HYDERABAD: A counselling and rehabilitation officer with the AP Vikalangula Cooperative Corporation in Cuddapah was trapped by the Anti-Corruption Bureau ACB) while he was allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 2,000 from a physically-challenged person.
The accused officer, S Darbar Basha, demanded the money to process the application of a handicapped woman.
The officer was arrested and later released on bail.
In another incident, Shahbuddin Khan, a superintendent with the mandal development office in Ramannapet, Nalgonda, was caught red-handed when he allegedly accepted Rs 1,500 from the convener of the Neeru-Meeru committee Samenigudem.
The officer demanded the bribe for issuing rice coupons for the Neeru-Meeru works executed by her. In yet another case, Ghulam Hussain, a mandal revenue inspector working in Bandlaguda was trapped by the bureau officials when he allegedly took a bribe of Rs 500 from a person for doing some favour.
