Based on her complaint, Madhura Nagar police registered a suspicious death case on Monday and are planning to exhume Farzana's body to conduct a postmortem.
The girl told police that her mother was beaten mercilessly with the stick by Saleem in their house in Masjid Gadda following an argument over Rs 50,000. "My father wanted the money my mother had deposited in her bank account and during a heated argument he kept hitting her. My mother had heart problems and suffered from high blood pressure. Due to the assault, she fell unconscious and frothed at the mouth," she said.
As Farzana remained unconscious, the girl called her aunt, who lives in Vengalrao Nagar, and by the time they reached the house, Farzana had died, Madhura Nagar police said. On June 16 morning, Saleem shifted Farzana's body to her sister's house in Kamareddy where her final rites were performed. Farzana was a homemaker.
