HYDERABAD: Three inter-state gangs involved in organising betting during the ongoing IPL season have been busted by police on Wednesday and 1.84 crore cash was seized from the accused.

Cyberabad police commissioner Stephen Ravendra, during a press conference, said that a real estate agent, P Narsing Rao with the support of two absconding accused, Ganapathi Reddy of Bangalore and Srinivas Raju of East Godavari district, was in contact with various punters in facilitating betting under the RGIA police limits.



"The main bookies provided access to Narsing Rao through app's like vajra777.com, vajra exchange, metro exchange, radhe exchange, focus book247 and varma777 by taking money. Narsing Rao gave access to punters by provided username and password for taking money," police said.

According to police, the punters are mostly from Telangana, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The transaction of money was done through various e-wallets or using cash, they said. Police seized 60 lakh cash from the accused and froze 32 lakhs in different bank accounts.

Similarly, another case registered by Rajendranagar police a bookie, V Ravi Raju from Dundigal and B Satyanarayana Raju from Bheemavaram, were found organising betting through radhe exchange, cricket live guru in Bandlaguda Jagir of Rajendranagar area, CP Ravendra said.

The main bookie shared the app details to the sub-bookie who in turn gives access to the punters using the app to place bets. Police seized 71.50 lakh cash from this gang.

In another case, the special operation team (Balanagar Zone) police nabbed two sub-bookies, K Vinod Kumar and Srikanth Reddy, main accused Lingam of Bheemavaram and seized 7.52 lakh cash from them.

The accused in all these three cases were allegedly organising cricket betting ever since the IPL started.
