Eminent Konkani writer and Jnanpith awardee Damodar Mauzo would be the chief guest at the inaugural session and, as part of the effort to promote Konkani, a film of award-winning director Bardroy Barretto will also be screened. The three-day event would also have several folk and cultural performances from the Konkan region.

"This time we have picked Kokani as the language in focus as this is one of the two languages in India seeing a decline in the number of speakers. It is also unique as it is written in four scripts and spoken in three states," Festival director Vijay Kumar said.

The organisers said that a crucial focus this year would be on promoting inclusivity as part of which they would be having several authors who are physically disabled present across various panels, shedding light on their work.

The festival, which has free entry, is expecting about 20,000 visitors across three days and has linked up with Hyderabad Metro Rail and its last mile partners, Svida, to provide last mile pickup-drop in 15-minute frequency to the venue from Lakdikapul Metro station.
