3 boys drown in village tank

Hyderabad: A fun outing for a group of boys turned tragic when three boys drowned in a village tank in New Poratpalli near NTPC Ramagundam in Peddapalli district on Friday.Police said the boys were class VIII students of a local zilla parishad high school. Vikram, Uma Mahesh and Sai Charan, who ventured first into the tank, drowned as they did not know swimming. They were aged 12 and belonged to New Poratpalli village.Police said four boys went to the tank. While the three boys ventured into the water, their friend chose to stay away. When he saw them drowning, he ran to alert the villagers seeking their help. Police deployed swimmers to bring out the bodies. A case under section 174 (suspicious death) of CrPC registered. tnn
