, had purchased 800 litres of cooking oil from Manjunath Oil Industry at Saroornagar three months ago. “He owed the company Rs 83,460 but could pay only Rs 33,000,” Chilkalguda inspector Balagangi Reddy said. For the past few days, the family of the victim was allegedly harassed by a person working for the oil company, asking them to pay up the remaining money.

Around 4.30am on Thursday, two persons, reportedly sent by the company, forcibly entered the house of Vijay Bhaskar and took him along with them on a bike.

“His wife approached us. We traced the victim at an oil mill at Karmanghat and rescued him. He had no injuries. We have arrested three persons,” the inspector added. Police arrested Sangepu Markandaiah, Vanam Srinivasulu and Kamishetty Raju, all three from the oil company, and booked them for kidnapping, trespassing and criminal intimidation.
