Twenty-nine two-wheelers parked near Paiga Plaza, a commercial complex in Basheerbagh, were gutted when a transformer located close to the parking lot exploded and burst into flames.

HYDERABAD: Twenty-nine two-wheelers parked near Paiga Plaza, a commercial complex in Basheerbagh, were gutted when a transformer located close to the parking lot exploded and burst into flames.
The oil from the transformer spilt on to the parked vehicles, causing the fire to spread faster than usual. The vehicles were charred within no time and the extent of damage is expected to be worth Rs 10 to Rs 15 lakh, fire officials said.

One fire engine from the Secretariat fire department engaged in fire fighting operations. "Over 40 vehicles were saved from the fire," said Vijaya Kumar, a fire officer.
