HYDERABAD: Six inter-state drug traffickers were caught with 200
kg of ganja at Panthangi toll plaza on Tuesday while they were smuggling the contraband from
Andhra Pradesh to Maharashtra.
The gang was busted by the Special Operations Team (SOT) along with Choutuppal cops after being tipped off. All the six accused, Vivek Mohan Rao Havle, Ganesh Maruti Rao Dhumal, Sachin Suresh Gade, Santosh Baharh Buradi, Samrat Surendra Mane and Bill Ashok, hail from Maharashtra.
According to Rachakonda police, the accused had purchased the ganja from a dealer identified as Keshav in Sileru, Andhra Pradesh, for 3,000 a kg.
It was to be delivered to one Datta in Bhoom in Maharashtra for 20,000 a kg. The accused were booked under relevant sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985.
