2 peddlers from Ivory Coast held, 25gm cocaine seized

HYDERABAD: Two drug smugglers of

Ivory Coast

(Republic of Côte d'Ivoire) were arrested at Nanal Nagar on Sunday and 25 grams of

cocaine

worth Rs 1.5 lakh seized from their possession.


Acting on specific information, Excise sleuths kept a watch on the movement of Dohoun Arnold Patrick, 31, and Yaye Abdoulaye, 34, near Nanal Nagar X roads on Sunday morning when they were looking to meet prospective customers and arrested them. The excise sleuths seized 25 grams of cocaine and three cell phones from their possession. On interrogation, the accused confessed they procured the contraband from a Bengaluru-based Nigerian peddler.

“Arnold Patrick has been staying in Bengaluru and he came to Hyderabad by bus on Sunday morning to sell cocaine to customers as per the instructions of his handler. Arnold took shelter at Yaye Abdoulaye’s flat at Sun City, Bandlaguda. On Sunday morning, Arnold and Yaye got out of the house to sell cocaine to customers in Tolichowki, Himayatnagar and

. We arrested them near Nanal Nagar X roads,” assistant Excise superintendent (Enforcement) N Anji Reddy said.

The accused were selling a gram of cocaine for Rs 6,000. A week ago, excise sleuths had arrested another gang member of the accused, Suleman Ibraheem Hasan, at Lakdikapul in possession of six grams of cocaine. “The accused were handed over to Golconda excise police for further investigation,” Anji Reddy said.
