2-month-old boy undergoes cataract operation

A two-month-old baby, born through a normal delivery, but was later detected to be suffering from cataract, was saved after a rare surgery. A team under Dr Vamshidhar and Dr Krishnapriya successfully removed the cataract.

HYDERABAD: A two-month-old baby, born through a normal delivery, but was later detected to be suffering from cataract, was saved after a rare surgery.
Shortly after Mohith Nanda's birth at Dr Agarwal's Eye Hospital, his mother realized that the baby had a white reflection in his eyes and was not looking at her as other kids of his age would do. The child was found to be suffering from congenital cataract in both the eyes.
Surgery on an infant had many challenges.

However, a team under Dr Vamshidhar and Dr Krishnapriya, successfully removed the cataract from both the eyes of the baby. The baby and his family also inaugurated a new paediatric ward.
