HYDERABAD: A 29-year-old man and his colleague's wife died in a road accident in Hyderabad's Vanasthalipuram area on Tuesday.


The deceased were identified as Ch Ravikanth Reddy (29), the owner of Sri Food Court in Gouthami Nagar and M Tara (36), a homemaker from Gowliguda.

Tara's husband, Laxman works at the food court of Ravikanth Reddy.

Recently Laxman fell ill and went to his native place Siddipet.

On Tuesday, Tara called Ravikanth Reddy to come to her house and take her to a temple to pray for the well being of her husband, Vanasthalipuram police said.

Ravikanth went to Gowliguda and picked up Tara.

When they were travelling on the bike towards the temple at Panama X Road, a tipper truck coming from LB Nagar rammed into the two-wheeler.

Due to severe head injuries, both Tara and Reddy died on the spot.

Police registered a case against the truck driver under Section 304-a (causing death due to rash or negligent act) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
