HYDERABAD: Malkajgiri police on Saturday arrested two persons, including an employee of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Venkat Ramana, for assaulting Green Brigade (GB) contractor Hemanth Kumar, who works with the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB).
The GB contractor went to a property located at (H.No.13/1/42/1), Veenapani Nagar, Malkajgiri, Secunderabad (CAN:616722395) under O&M division-XIII to disconnect water connection for non-payment of water dues of Rs 37,604 for the past 12 years.

The water board had also served 'red notices' and sent several reminders, but the owner did not come forward to settle the dues.
To disconnect the water connection, Hemanth Kumar went to the duo's house on January 3, but he was badly beaten by Ram Chander Rao and Venkata Ramana.
"Based on a complaint lodged by the GB contactor, the Malkajgiri police have a registered a criminal case and arrested the two persons. They will be produced in court on January 6," according to an official release issued by the HMWS&SB here on Saturday.
