15 dead, several injured in road accident

HYDERABAD: At least 15 people are feared killed and about 20 were injured when a lorry laden with books, rammed into a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation owned passed bus near Tummaduga in Ramannapet mandal of Nalgonda district on Wednesday afternoon.
Initial reports reaching here said that the bus, belonging to Narketpally depot in Nalgonda district was carrying 35 passengers.Three rescue teams from the police and revenue department officials have rushed to the accident spot and took the injured to a private hospital.
Expressing shock at the accident, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao rushed home minister N Narasimha Reddy along with transport minister P Mahender Reddy and the minister representing the Nalgonda district G Jagadish Reddy to the accident spot. The ministers were attending the ongoing monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly and Council here.
Eyewtiness reports said that one side of the bus was crushed and most deaths were among passengers on that side which bore the impact of the lorry that crashed into the bus. Preliminary reports from the police said that the lorry was travelling at a high speed. ends
