ZP CEO reviews vet infra, flags staff gaps in Dharwad
Dharwad: Zilla panchayat chief executive officer Bhuvanesh Patil on Tuesday visited various facilities under the animal husbandry and veterinary services department in Dharwad district and reviewed infrastructure and services.
During his visit to the district veterinary hospital (polyclinic), he inspected treatment facilities for animals and expressed concern over vacancies in four D-group posts sanctioned for the hospital. He directed officials to submit proposals to fill vacant D-group posts in veterinary institutions across the district on an outsourced basis.
Patil also instructed officials to prepare proposals for construction, repair and maintenance of veterinary hospital buildings. He directed the department to expedite implementation of the e-office system in its Dharwad office.
Reviewing facilities at the district veterinary hospital, he asked officials to submit proposals to the govt for procurement of a hydraulic surgical table for large animals and other essential equipment.
At the district animal husbandry training centre, he suggested improving basic amenities further. He later visited the semen production centre under the animal husbandry department on the University of Agricultural Sciences campus and expressed satisfaction with its functioning, including breeding, semen production and quality management processes. He assured support through zilla panchayat grants for additional infrastructure.
Patil also visited the veterinary hospital at Garag village and appreciated the cooling facility installed for animals to improve artificial insemination success. He distributed nutritional supplements to calves born through superior breed insemination and later inspected a private dairy farm run by Manohar Desai.
