Kalaburagi: A woman, the main accused in a kidnapping case that took place in the city on Monday evening, has been arrested by the University station police.

Biradar, is accused of duping her landlord and cheating her of lakhs of rupees by promising to double the money.
Savitri Kashetty of Gandhigudi Layout, Shahabazar told police about the modus operandi Mangala, a first division assistant (FDA) at Srinivasa Saradagi High School in the city.
Mahesh Biradar, Mangala Biradar and Kamalabai Biradar of Gaudagaon village in Afazalpur taluk were staying in Savitri's house on rent. They said they were running a company that doubles money and made her believe that the money will double in 10 days. Believing them, Savitri first gave Rs 10 lakh and transferred Rs 5 lakh through RTGS after two weeks.
However, Savitri did not get the money that was supposed to have been doubled. She didn't even get the money that she had initially given. Realising that she had been cheated, Savitri went to the school where Mangala works and demanded that she return the money. There, a person named Dayananda Hiroli forced her into a car, pointed a pistol at her and forced her to write that the money from Mangala had been returned, the complaint reads.
Police, who have arrested four accused and seized a pistol and live bullets, have registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC. Further probe is on.
