'Wireless networks can help forecast calamities'

HUBLI: Wireless technology expert B L Desai said path-breaking research in wireless networking helps forecast natural disasters like tsunami, earthquakes and landslides.Speaking at aseminar on `Wireless sensor networks and applications', organized by BVBEngineering College here, he said the technology would be useful to individualsand the society at large. Experts like Vijay Kumar B P, P R Patil,Vaishali Paitankar, Ashok Chikaraddi, S V Seeri and Ashok Shettar spoke. Over 89faculty members and hundreds of students attended the seminar sponsored byAICTE.
