WALMI bags nat’l award
Dharwad: Water and Land Management Institute (WALMI), Dharwad, has been awarded the prestigious National Award for 2022 for the excellence in the field of irrigation and power by New Delhi-based Central Board of Irrigation and Power (CBIP), Government of India. WALMI Dharwad was chosen by a high-level jury for this award for successfully implementing participatory irrigation management in Karnataka.Union minister for water, power, new and renewable energy RK Singh presented the award at a ceremony at New Delhi. Rajendra Poddar, director WALMI and BY Bhandiwaddar, superintending engineer received the award.Rajendra Poddar said WALMI, Dharwad is trying to achieve successful implementation of PIM by changing knowledge, skill and attitude of stakeholders.
