VHP files complaint over Mustafa Khadri case in Koppal

Photo: A delegation led by VHP district president Sangamesh Hiremath meets SP Ram L Arasiddi in Koppal on Saturday and submits a complaint along with evidence, seeking a comprehensive probeKoppal: A case alleging ‘love jihad' has come to light in the district, with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) filing a written complaint at the Koppal women's police station on April 10 against Mustafa Khadri Eklaspur, a resident of Kampli village in Koppal taluk.According to the complaint, Mustafa developed a close relationship with a Hindu student from a village in Kushtagi taluk while she was pursuing nursing studies in Koppal. Suspicion arose when the two were recently seen together at the Koppal District Hospital, following which local Hindu youths questioned him.During the inquiry, two mobile phones used by the accused were reportedly examined, leading to the recovery of objectionable material. The complaint states that photographs and obscene videos of 16 girls from different communities were found.It further alleges that one phone contained around 3,000 videos and 6,000 photos, while another had 3,700 videos and 4,000 photos of various girls in obscene poses.The complainant, VHP district president Sangamesh Hiremath, alleged that Mustafa exploited poor girls from rural areas, recorded their private visuals and subjected them to repeated mental and physical harassment.Following the incident, Hindu activists brought the accused to the Koppal Town police station on Saturday, where hundreds of people gathered.During police questioning, the accused reportedly stated that he was in love with the girl and had already married her. However, Hindu organisations alleged that the case is part of a systematic ‘love jihad' activity.A delegation led by VHP district president Sangamesh Hiremath later met SP Ram L Arasiddi and submitted the two mobile phones and other documents, urging a comprehensive investigation.Responding to the development, SP Ram Arasiddi said the accused has been taken into custody and is being questioned. He assured that all aspects of the case will be examined thoroughly and appropriate action will be taken.
