Two killed as car hits roadside bridge in Davanagere district

Two persons were killed on the spot and four others sustained grievous injuries when a car in which they were travelling hit a roadside bridge under Harihar rural police station limits in Davanagere district. The incident took place on Wednesday night.

Davanagere: Two persons were killed on the spot and four others sustained grievous injuries when a car in which they were travelling hit a roadside bridge under Harihar rural police station limits in Davanagere district. The incident took place on Wednesday night.
The deceased are Gowramma, 32, and Mallappa Kodiyal, 40, residents of Mallur village in Haveri district.

The injured - two children Anjali and Pranjali and two adults Leela and Yeshvanth Patil - are being treated at the SS Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital in Davanagere.
They are out of danger, police said. All of them are relatives and they had gone to a temple in Gundagatti village. When they were on the way back to the village, a cow was crossing the road near the jackwell at Rajanahalli.
In a bid to avoid the cow, the driver lost control of the car.
Harihar rural police visited the spot and registered a case.
