Hubballi: Hubballi Rural police arrested two accused in connection with an extortion case registered on Feb 23. They recovered assets worth Rs 5.8 lakh from them. Dharwad SP Gunjan Arya said in a press release that a complainant couple said they were discussing some personal issues while sitting in a car on the Deveragudihal-Revadihal Road on Febr 23 at 6.30pm. "Two bikers threatened the couple, pulled the husband out of the car, and looted his gold chain of 35 grams and cash of Rs 4,500. "Based on a complaint, a team comprising police inspector MR Channannavar, PSI Imran Pathan, and ASIs NM Honnappanavar and Nandish Vadrale cracked the case. The team arrested Akash alias Anta Akash Hanumantappa Singanalli and Raju alias Rajashekhar Dayanand Pavate of Hubballi on March 2. We recovered the stolen assets and the bike used for the offence," he explained.
