Tenders invited for RS 41 crore Praja Soudha project in Belagavi
Belagavi: The public works department (PWD) has invited tenders worth Rs 40.6 crore for the construction of a new integrated district administrative complex, ‘Praja Saudha', marking a significant step towards streamlining govt services at the district headquarters. The proposed building will come up adjacent to the existing deputy commissioner's office and aims to bring multiple govt departments under one roof. Officials said the move is intended to ease the burden on citizens, who currently have to travel to different parts of the city to access various services.According to the project plan, the structure will comprise a basement, a stilt floor and three upper floors. The basement will be designated for parking, a feature expected to help decongest traffic in the busy administrative area. The ground level will house a public service centre, waiting areas and service counters to facilitate citizen-centric operations.Key administrative offices, including those of the deputy commissioner and divisional commissioner, will be located on the upper floors, ensuring centralised governance and improved coordination among departments. The building will be constructed using an RCC frame structure.
The basement will have a height of 3.6 metres, while each of the upper floors will measure 4 metres in height. The structure will rise to 21 metres above ground level, with an additional central dome of 10.5 metres, taking the total height to 31.5 metres. The design also incorporates landscaped gardens, open spaces and internal roadways, along with a prominent central dome facing the main road on the northern side. Officials noted that the integrated complex is expected to enhance accessibility, improve service delivery and provide a more organised administrative environment for the public.DC Mohammad Roshan said: "Once completed, Praja Saudha is expected to serve as a one-stop hub for all district-level services, significantly improving citizen convenience and administrative efficiency."
