SWR conducts 23rd zonal rly users’ meet in Hubballi

Hubballi: South Western Railway (SWR) is in first place among all zonal railways in terms of Key Performance Indices (KPI) in 2022-23, said General Manager Sanjeev Kishore.Addressing the 23rd meeting of the Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) of SWR here on Tuesday, he stated that SWR has also been adjudged as the best performing railway zone during ‘Swachchata Pakhwara 2022’ by the Ministry of Railways. “Over 50 stations of SWR are being redeveloped including Vasco-da-gama, Mysuru and SSS Hubballi. As many as 83 number of special trains run and 1798 number of additional coaches were added for the convenience of the passengers during festival and holiday seasons. SWR is leaving no stone unturned in enhancement of connectivity and passenger amenities. Already 71% of SWR network is already electrified. In 2022-23, 228 km New line and doubling and 874 Route KM electrification (highest ever) was completed” he explained.Members were also briefed about various issues related to passenger amenities, infrastructure development, train services like additional stoppage, increase in frequency of trains and construction of ROBs/RUBs. They congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for introduction of South India’s first Vande Bharat Express Service.ZRUCC members Narayana Koragappa, MP, Rajya Sabha; Nilesh Cabral, Minister of Legislative Affairs, Environment, Goa; GK Adappagoudar, Venu Yadav, Ravi Kumar Vemulapalli, Damodardas R Rathi, Vinay J Javali, M Babu Rao, Devanand S Naik Bhandari and others were present.
