The South Western Railway (SWR) has decided to run a one-way special express train from Bengaluru City station to Patna to clear extra rush owing to winter holidays

HUBBALLI: The South Western Railway (SWR) has decided to run a one-way special express train from Bengaluru City station to Patna to clear extra rush owing to winter holidays. Train No. 02578 will leave Bengaluru City station at 10.00am on Wednesday and reach Patna at 10.00am on January 2. The train will have 22 coaches, consisting one AC 3-tier, one second class sleeper, 18 general second class and two second class luggage-cum-brake vans.

SWR has also decided to run a special express train between Yesvantpur and Gudur in view of the extra rush to Tirupati for Vaikunth Ekadashi. Yesvantpur-Gudur Ekadashi Express Special (train no. 06535) will leave Yesvantpur at 2-30pm on Wednesday and reach Gudur at 11-45pm the same day. In the return direction, train no. 06536 will depart from Gudur at 11-30am on January 1 and arrive at Yesvantpur at 9-45pm the same day.
Meanwhile, East Coast Railway will continue running weekly express special trains between Sambalpur and Yesvantpur for five trips in each direction. Sambalpur-Yesvantpur Weekly Express Special (train no. 08301) will depart from Sambalpur at 8-50am on Wednesdays from Wednesday to January 28 and arrive at Yesvantpur at 4-30pm on Thursdays. In the return direction, train no. 08302 will depart from Yesvantpur at 12-30am on Fridays from Jan 2-30 and arrive at Sambalpur at 6.15am on Saturdays.
The train will have 17 coaches, consisting one AC 2-tier, one AC 3-tier, 10 second class sleeper, three general second class and two second class luggage-cum-brake vans.
