Six arrested for gambling

Kalaburagi: Based on a tip-off, CCB Unit PI Dilipakumar B Sagar and police personnel Ashoka, Mrityunjaya, Rajkumar, Ashoka Katake, Yallappa, Sunilkumar, and Nagaraja conducted a raid at a graveyard near Gumbaz at Payanagalli on Saturday evening. They apprehended four individuals engaged in gambling activities.The arrested are Basavaraja Talwar, Vinod Patil, Jitesha Upadhyay, and Arif Ahmed. Police seized Rs 3,300 in cash along with 52 playing cards. The case was filed at Roja police station.In a separate operation, Ashoka Nagar Police PSI Shailaja and Crime Branch personnel Sivaprakash, Mujahid Kotwal, and Chandrasekhara conducted raids near a hotel opposite the city's central bus stand and the liquor gate. They arrested two individuals involved in matka activities.Police arrested Ashoka Biradar from Basava Kalyan, confiscating Rs 1,460 in cash, a matka slip, and a ball pen. They also arrested Dayananda Talakeri and seized Rs 1,540 in cash, a matka slip, and a ball pen. Both cases were registered at Ashoka Nagar police station.
