Satish seeks transfer of officials from Gokak

Belagavi: The by-election in the

Gokak

assembly constituency has turned-up to be a battleground for the Jarkiholi brothers and it is heating-up every passing day. The youngest among the brothers,

Lakhan

, is campaigning in the constituency alsong with his brother Satish against their oldest brother Ramesh Jarkiholi.

Yamakanamaradi MLA Satish Jarkiholi met state chief election commissioner Sanjeev Kumar on Thursday in Bengaluru and urged him to take measures to ensure free and fair elections by transferring

officials

who are from the district and serving in the constituency, until the elections are over.

Satish has sought the

transfer

of taluk panchayat CEO Basavaraj Hegganaik, block education officer G B Baligar, assistant director (in-charge) of taluk panchayat S H Desai and Ankalagi village accountant Shivanand Hiremath. Satish stated that allowing the services of these officials during the by-election may lead to poll violations.

Sanjeev Kumar assured Satish that necessary measures would be taken.
