Ragigudda incident appeasement ployby Congress: Joshi
Hubballi/Dharwad: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi termed Ragigudda riots as height of appeasement politics by Congress. Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Joshi alleged that the state government has not yet taken the case seriously and it’s clear that it is protecting rioters. “Congress should remember that it was not only supported by minorities and we condemn the government’s stand of supporting rioters” he added.
He lamented that it should be a shame for the Congress to support those who raise slogans against Pakistan.

He also said that he will write a letter to the DGP saying not to withdraw a single case against miscreants who tried to set fire to a police station. “When BJP was in power, it withdrew cases registered against farmer activists but not cases registered against anti-social elements,” he claimed.
Commenting on Congress leader Shamanur Shivashankrappa’s statement, in Dharwad, Joshi suggested CM Siddaramaiah to consider it seriously. He said that state government should declare drought in needed taluks, which have been kept out of the lists.
Drought study teams sent after receiving proposal
When asked about delay of visit by drought study teams, he retorted that teams were sent only after receiving proposal from the state government.
“It should not show finger at the Union government for its own delay,” he said.
Retorting to minister Santosh Lad’s statement, Joshi said wherever the state government shows sympathy, terrorism rises its head up in the state.

“Lad has said that Union government is responsible for the Dharwad link with an ISIS-suspected terrorist. When UPA was ruling the country, bomb blasts were common right from Hubballi to Delhi. Now, terrorism is curbed across the nation, including Kashmir. ,” he said.
He suggested ministers not to make politics of the Dharwad terror link issue.

The Tamil Film Producers Council has decided to present a petition to the Tamil Nadu government, requesting permission for theaters to screen five shows between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Currently, theaters are only allowed to screen four shows during this time period. The council argues that the rule was implemented 50 years ago and that an extra show would help reach the audience more efficiently. They also express concern about piracy and social media leaks due to the delayed release time in Tamil Nadu compared to other states.
