Onlining revenue services: Min directs officials to accelerate progress
Gadag: From next year, Jamabandi process will be conducted online, and officials and staff must prepare for it, said revenue minister Krishna Byre Gowda.Convening a progress review meeting of the Gadag district revenue department, Gowda said the govt is committed to making the survey process completely paperless. "Henceforth, survey sketches must be in digital format. A pilot project is under way in Gadag district through Pauti app, and its progress needs to be enhanced. The revenue department must be fully digitised, and this process should be completed by March-end," he added.
In Gadag, Aadhaar seeding is 85.6% complete, and steps must be taken to achieve 100%. During the provision of insurance and compensation for lands in the name of deceased persons, records must be properly verified. Since only 48% of the document scanning and uploading work is complete, it must be accelerated. Priority should be given to Pauti work, land security schemes, land beat, Jamabandi, and land subdivision tasks. All records, including responses, should be easily accessible to citizens, he stated. The last date for submitting revenue village proposals is March 16, and all proposals should be submitted by then, the minister instructed the officials.Shirahatti MLA Chandru Lamani stated that village accountants should be properly available to the public in the office. "Separate offices have already been identified for them. However, they won't be available to the public," he said. Responding to this, the minister instructed the district officials to take necessary steps to prevent such situations from recurring.MLC SV Sankanur mentioned that among the 43 departments in the state, only 3-4 are functioning well, and the revenue department is one of them, according to a report. "This was possible due to the proactive efforts of the revenue minister. The digitisation of the revenue department is a commendable step in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Digital India initiative," he said.DC CN Sreedhara presented progress details with statistics on various projects of the revenue department at the meeting.
