District in-charge secretary Ashok Kumar C Manoli has suspended an assistant director of agriculture attached to Honnali taluk for dereliction of duty while carrying out flood relief work.

DAVANAGERE: District in-charge secretary Ashok Kumar C Manoli has suspended an assistant director of agriculture attached to Honnali taluk for dereliction of duty while carrying out flood relief work.
A decision to this effect was taken during a review meeting presided over by district minister S A Ravindranath, DC K Amaranarayana and Manoli at the DC's office here on Tuesday.

Honnali MLA M P Renukacharya had complained that the officer, Krishnamurthy, was lax in carrying out flood relief works besides being indifferent to the plight of the flood victims.
The district minister also warned the officers not be lethargic in undertaking flood relief works. Manoli said action has been taken to shift 13 villages of Harapanahalli taluk to safer places.
MP G M Siddeshwar, chief whip A H Shivayogiswamy, MLAs B P Harish and Basavaraj Naik were present.
