Police had concluded the case as suicide incident, later allowed to body cremation.
According to activists of Vedike, it’s a prima-facie murder case and police officials are protecting the accused by closing case in hurry, bowing to the political pressure. They demanded CID inquiry, alleging that many senior police officials are involved in this case including Chikkodi DySP R S Patil in destroying evidences.
Advocate Ugare said the spot where body was found, body was not hanging but both legs were folded. Not a single symptom found by which one can conclude it’s a suicide like open eyes, tongue coming outside mouth etc. Besides, big sized rope generally found in sugarcane carrying lorries used for hanging here but knot fitted the neck not at the one end of rope but in middle. This apart, several spot evidences prove it’s clear murder. One more thing is, death note found inside shirt instead in pocket. Despite all clear evidences, police concluded it as suicide case and allowed for cremation in hurry to destroy evidences, Ugare alleged.
According to death note, student Mahadev Kuge took extreme step after he insulted by school teachers and sent him out of school for singing a song in school. Six names mentioned in death note including teacher S M Limbalkar making responsible for suicide step. Advocate Ugare said “in this case police are protecting the accused and targeting somebody else. Hence, truth is only come out by higher level inquiry like CID”, he said.
When asked SP Ravikante Gowda said the matter hasn’t come to his notice and if required he will take action to re-investigate the case after looking into the circumstances.
