Muslim boy’s Krishna attire steals hearts

Belagavi: For Dastgir Mokashi’s family every festival in India is meant to be celebrated. Be it Eid-ul-Fitr, Gokulashtami or Ram Navami. It is a day this Muslim family gets together with friends and neighbours and soaks in the festive fervour.
On Friday, pictures of Dastgir’s grandson Adnan dressed as Lord Krishna did the rounds on social media.
Reacting to the clip, Dastgir, a resident of Sadashiv Nagar in Belagavi city, says it has been a tradition in his family for generations.“We celebrate Gokulasthami and Ram Navami with our Hindu friends, and they, in turn, celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr and Bakrid with us. This has never led to an unpleasant situation. All religions are equal and show a single path,” said Dastgir.
Dastgir says one must learn to respect all relgions. “Our family respects Hindu-Muslim religious harmony,” he added. And, as for dressing up Adnan like Krishna, Dastgir says he and his wife enjoy it. “Our family enjoys it. My wife and I prepared Adnan for the school function with help from Adnan’s mother.” tnn
