DHARWAD: Pandit Basavaraj Rajguru National Memorial Trust will organize a three-day national music festival here from April 13. District minister
Jagadish Shettar will inaugurate the fest.
Trust chairman and MLA Chandrakanth Bellad said renowned artistes will perform at the festival to be held at Srujana auditorium from 6.30pm to 9:30pm on all the three days.
Vishwaraj Rajguru from Dharwad (vocal), Anubrat Chaterjee from Kolkata (tabla solo) and Ganapathi Bhat Hasanagi (vocal) will perform on the first day.
On April 14, a vocal concert by Jayadevi Jangamashetty will be held at 6.30pm, to be followed by another vocal recital by Somanath Mardur. On the concluding day, T A S Mani and troupe from Bangalore and
Hameed Khan (violin-sitar jugalbandi) and Ashwini Bhide Deshpande from Pune (vocal) will present a recital.
The trust has instituted a national-level award of Rs 1 lakh and two awards of Rs 25,000 each for young talents.
