She was speaking after inaugurating the annual activities of Dr Walter Reckless Study Circle in the department of criminology and forensic science at
Karnatak Science College
here on Saturday. She said it is possible to detect crimes with the help of advanced technology, but the cooperation of people is most important. “The police department’s motto is to ensure people-friendly policing and it cannot be achieved without support from society,” she said.
Chairman of the department Jagadish Kalyan recalled that former IPS officer K P Venkatesh Murthy was instrumental in starting the criminology department. Principal of Karnatak Science College Channu Mulimani presided over the event.
