MLA Anand Singh tenders resignation

HAVERI: Vijayanagar (

Hosapete

) assembly constituency MLA Anand Singh submitted his resignation to assembly speaker

, at his residence in Ranebennur on Saturday.

Speaking to STOI, speaker Koliwad confirmed that Anand Singh personally visited his residence and submitted the resignation letter. “I enquired the reason and accepted his resignation as it is genuine,”’ he clarified.

Anand Singh, has been maintaining a distance with BJP and skipped the recent

Parivartana Yatra

in Hosapete. However, he attended the

Tipu Jayanti celebrations

, organized by the Ballari district administration while the BJP had opposed the celebration. Singh is expected to join the Congress on February 10 in the presence of

AICC president Rahul Gandhi

in Hosapete.
