MES presses for anti-state resolution in council meeting
Belagavi: Councillors of the ruling Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES) and mayor Kiran Saynak are under pressure to pass an anti-state resolution in the council meeting of Belagavi City Corporation (BCC).
The MES top brass have written to the mayor to table the resolution expressing their desire to merge Belagavi city with Maharashtra.
Deepak Dalavi, city president of MES, and chief secretary Maloji Asthekar wrote to the mayor on Tuesday urging him to pass the resolution, namely 'Seema Tharav.' After the Black Day programme November 1, office bearers of MES met prof ND Patil, former Union minister, and raised the issue of passing 'Seema Tharav'.
