Man nabbed for wielding weapon in public

Belagavi: Marihal police arrested a man in Mutaga village who was allegedly threatening people in a public place with a weapon, on Thursday evening. The arrested person has been identified as Sagar Tarun, 40, of Mutaga village. Acting on a tip-off, the Marihal police visited the spot where Sagar was standing near a hotel brandishing a weapon. Police immediately seized the weapon and took the person to the police station. After interrogation, a case was registered against him under Section 27(1) of the Indian Arms Act and Section 97 of the KP Act. Chandrashekhar C, PSI, of Marihal police station, said that an investigation is under way.
