Madivaleshwara Rathotsava on Feb 4

Dharwad: The 145th annual Jatra Mahotsava of Madivaleshwara Shivayogi in Garage of Dkarwad taluk will be held on Feb 4, said Atmaram Swamiji of the Madivaleshwara Kalmath. Speaking to media on Thursday, he said that Dharma Sabha programmes will be held every evening at 7pm from Jan 31 to Feb 3. On Jan 31, Suresh Desai of Bedakihal will deliver a lecture on protection of cattle and agriculture. Pranalinga Swamiji of Nippani will preside. On Feb 1, a mass marriage and Shiva Deeksha will be held. On Feb 2, Ashok Hanchali of Basavana Bagewadi will speak on personality development and on Feb 3, Basavaraj Yaligar of Vijayapura will speak on Sharanas. Rathotsava will be held on Feb 4. Murugha mutt's Mallikarjun Swamiji, Vachanananda Swamiji, Gangadhara Swamiji, Prabhu Neelakantha Swamiji, Abhinava Shantalinga Shivacharya Swamiji, Kumar Veerupaksha Swamiji, along with hundreds of seers from various mutts, will participate. As part of the Jatra Mahotsava, open wrestling competitions will be held on Feb 5, 6, and 7. On Feb 7 at 12 noon, the third death anniversary of Channabasava Swamiji will be observed. On Feb 8 at 11am, a state-level bullock cart race will be held, said former MLA Amrut Desai.
