Haveri: Law minister HK Patil announced funding for community hall at the Vemana Jayanti celebration held in Haveri on Sunday. Addressing the district-level Vemana Jayanti celebrations and book release function at the Vemana Vidyavardhaka Sangha premises in Ranebennur, Patil announced an initial grant of Rs 50 lakh for constructing a community hall. He emphasised Vemana's philosophy that divinity resides within oneself. Legislative assembly deputy speaker Rudrappa Lamani acknowledged the Reddy community's role in his political advancement and committed himself to securing a site for the community in Haveri city. Ranebennur MLA Prakash Koliwad praised Vemana's benevolent nature and highlighted the Reddy community's respected status and their supportive nature during challenging times. Community leaders confirmed their plans to direct Rs 1 crore, allocated by the legislator, towards the Vemana Vidyavardhaka Sangha's Community Hall project.
