Landslide near Castle Rock; several trains cancelled
Hubballi: A landslide triggered by incessant rains on the Karnataka and Goa border has made South Western Railway to cancel, short terminate and divert many trains on Wednesday. Earthmoving equipment have been mobilized to clear the site between Castle Rock-Caranzol stations of Braganza Ghat section of Hubballi division, while a team of officers and engineers left from Hubballi towards the spot, on Tuesday night itself. Senior officers are monitoring the situation from the Hubballi control room. SWR CPRO Aneesh Hegde said buses were arranged at SSS Hubballi and Belagavi stations for passengers of short-terminated trains. “Ten Buses were deployed for passengers of Yeshwantpur - Vasco at Hubballi and 13 buses for Goa Express at Belagavi, to help passengers reach Goa safely. Passengers of Jasidih Jn-Vasco Da Gama, Shalimar-Vasco Da Gama and Kacheguda-Vasco Da Gama were also sent by buses to Goa,” he said.Train No. 17309 Yeshwantpur - Vasco-da-Gama Express and Train No. 17310 Vasco-da-Gama - Yeshwantpur Express were cancelled for Wednesday. Train No. 12779 Vasco-da-gama - Hazrat Nizamuddin Express commencing journey from Vasco-da-gama on Tuesday, was diverted to run via Madgaon, Majorda, Madure, Roha, Panvel, Karjat and Manmad, duly skipping stoppages at Sanvordem Curchorem, Kulem, Castlerock, Londa, Belagavi, Ghatprabha, Raybag, Kudachi, Miraj, Sangli, Karad, Satara, Pune, Daund Chord Line, Ahmadnagar, Belapur and Kopargaon stations. Train No. 17316 Velankanni–Vasco da Gama Weekly Express, which commenced its journey on Tuesday, is partially cancelled between SSS Hubballi – Vasco da Gama and it will short terminate at Hubballi. Train No. 12780 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Vasco da Gama Daily Superfast Express, which commenced its journey on Tuesday, is partially cancelled between Belagavi – Vasco da Gama, and it will short terminate at Belagavi.Partial cancellationTrain No. 18047 Shalimar-Vasco da Gama Amaravati Express, which commenced its journey on Tuesday, is partially cancelled between SSS Hubballi – Vasco-da-Gama, and it will short terminate at Hubballi. Train No. 18048 Vasco da Gama – Shalimar Amaravati Express will be partially cancelled between Vasco da Gama – SSS Hubballi on July 27, and it will originate from Hubballi. Train No. 12779 Vasco-da-Gama - Hazrat Nizamuddin Express, journey commencing on July 27 and 28, will be partially cancelled between Vasco da Gama – Belagavi and it will originate from Belagavi. On Wednesday, Kacheguda – Vasco da Gama slip coaches operated by Train No. 17603/18047 was partially cancelled between Hubballi – Vasco da Gama and it will short terminate at Hubballi. On Thursday, Vasco da Gama - Kacheguda slip coaches operated by Train No. 17604/18048 will be partially cancelled between Vasco da Gama - Hubballi and it will originate from Hubballi. Train No. 16591 Hubballi – Mysuru Hampi Daily Express will be rescheduled to depart from SSS Hubballi by 60 minutes on Friday. Train No. 00351 Magra-Madgaon Special will be rescheduled to depart from Magra (Hooghly District, West Bengal) by 24 hours at 11:30pm on Thursday instead of 11:30pm on Wednesday, due to the landslide between Castle Rock and Caranzol. Train No. 17419 / 17021 Tirupati / Hyderabad - Vasco da Gama Weekly Express will be cancelled on July 27 and Train No. 17420 / 17022 Vasco da Gama-Tirupati / Hyderabad Weekly Express will be cancelled on July 28. Train No. 17309 Yeshwantpur – Vasco da Gama Daily Express will be cancelled on July 27 and 28. Train No. 17310 Vasco da Gama – Yeshwantpur Daily Express will be cancelled on July 27 and 28. Train No 12780 Hazrat Nizamuddin - Vasco da Gama Daily Superfast Express, leaving Hazrat Nizamuddin on July 26 and 27, is partially cancelled between Belagavi – Vasco da Gama, and it will short terminate at Belagavi. Train No. 12779 Vasco da-Gama - Hazrat Nizamuddin Daily Express will be partially cancelled between Vasco da Gama – Belagavi on July 29, and it will originate from Belagavi. Train No. 17321 Vasco da Gama – Jasidih Weekly Express will be partially cancelled between Vasco da Gama-Londa on July 28, and it will originate from Londa. Train No. 18048 Vasco da Gama – Shalimar Amaravati Express will be partially cancelled between Vasco da Gama – SSS Hubballi on July 28, and it will start late by 60 minutes from Hubballi. On July 28, Vasco da Gama - Kacheguda slip coaches operated by Train No. 18048 / 17604 will be partially cancelled between Vasco da Gama - SSS Hubballi and it will originate from SSS Hubballi.
