​Karnataka temple fire leaves 9 Ayyappa devotees injured

HUBBALLI: As many as nine Ayyappa devotees were severely injured after a fire broke out at a temple in wee hours of Sunday in Hubballi.

Vidyanagar police said that fire broke out at Shiva temple in Achhavva colony as one of devotees touched an LPG stove in his sleep which led to leakage of gas around 1am.

Some devotees said that as some oil lamps were burning in the temple, the fire spread quickly and they could not come out as their room had only one door and window.

The injured devotees have been admitted at KMC RI Hospital.
