Karnataka bandh: Kannada activists taken into preventive custody

HUBBALLI: Gadag police have taken some

pro-Kannada

activists into preventive custody who were staging protest by blocking NH-63 near DC office in Gadag city.


The activists were staging protest in front of deputy commissioner's office condemning formation of

Maratha Development Authority

.

The protesters suddenly rushed to the Hubballi Road(NH 63) and blocked vehicular traffic.

The police tried to convince them not to block the road but they did not listen.

The protest was led by

Karnataka Rakshana Vedike

district president Manjunath Abbigeri. The police took them away from the protest site to DAR ground in a van.
