He said, "The valuation of the missing ore is being done by the Lokayukta officials and the report in this regard will be submitted to the government."
The Lokayukta team brought the irregularities in ore export business to the light. "Allegations made by port minister Krishna Palemar against Karwar DCF R Gokul were baseless and far from the truth," he said.
Inspector general of police (CID) M N Reddy visited Belekeri port on Monday and collected all the information. He said the investigation conducted by Lokayukta has nothing to do with the CID. He said, "Forest officials had filed a complaint in Ankola police alleging that huge quantity of the iron ore seized them by in Belekeri port was missing. CID has taken over the investigation from local police on the direction of the court."
He said only his agency is authorized to investigate the case. He said the report will be submitted to the government once the investigation is completed.
