Indian Achievers Award to prof Ashok Patil
Dharwad: The Indian Achievers' Forum, an organisation that recognises and encourages exemplary achievements that inspire public life, has awarded the 2025 ‘Indian Achievers Award' to prof Ashok Ramachandra Patil, Vice-Chancellor of the National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi, Jharkhand. Son of writer and former lecturer Ramachandra Patil, prof Ashok has extensive expertise, particularly in product safety standards, and is recognised as an eminent educator and legal scholar. For over 27 years, he has made significant contributions to the development of consumer law, public policy, and legal education at both national and international levels. His areas of expertise include consumer protection law, criminal law, insurance law, and mediation. He has served as the professor and head of the department of consumer law and practice at National Law School of Bangalore, where he established the Online Consumer Mediation Centre. He also launched the ‘International Journal on Consumer Law and Practice' and has been serving as its editor-in-chief.
