Holi celebrations in Hubballi peaceful

Hubballi: Holi elebrations in Hubballi passed off peacefully on Saturday, with police deploying more than 2,500 personnel and installing CCTV cameras across key locations in the city. The festival of colours was celebrated across Hubballi, where people exchanged colours and took part in festivities in several localities. The Ranga Panchami festival was in full swing in the commercial city, with people throwing colours at each other. Police Commissioner N Shashi kumar told TOI that police were deployed as a precautionary measure at Chennamma Circle and other sensitive areas. Police personnel were deployed from several districts, including Udupi, Kalaburagi, and Channapatna, for security. In addition, CCTV cameras were installed at 30 strategic locations by the police department and more than 60 locations by the corporation, he added.
