Hubballi: Sahaja Samruddha, Swissaid and Research Institute of Organic Agriculture will organie ‘Forgotten Foods Mela’ at Laxmi Sadan on July 16 and 17.
In a press release, G Krishna Prasad, director of Sahaja Samruddha, has said that Krishnamurthy Biligere, joint director, college education department, will inaugurated the mela at 12 noon on Saturday in the presence of Anandateertha Pyati, organic farmer, Koppal; Anitha M, director, Sahaja Organics, and Savitri Somappa Kodli, secretary, Sanjeevini Okkuta, Kundagol.
“The mela is aimed at reintroducing forgotten food items that have medicinal values. Various farmers and farmer groups will showcase neglected but economic food items at the mela,” he said, adding competitions in forgotten foods cooking will be organised at 4pm and another on jackfruits eating sat 6pm.
