Five lawyers suspended

Karnataka State Bar Council (KSBC) suspended the enrollment (Sanad) of five lawyers from Raibag on Friday, based on prima-facie evidence that they had furnished fake law certificates.

BELAGAVI: Karnataka State Bar Council (KSBC) suspended the enrollment (Sanad) of five lawyers from Raibag on Friday, based on prima-facie evidence that they had furnished fake law certificates.
Tukaram Madale, Hanumant Sane, Pawan Kadam, Ashok Sankapal and Prabhakar Gaggari were practicing in Raibag taluk court and were members of Raibag Bar Association.

Following a complaint by RTI activist Surendra Ugare, KSBC had asked for their certificates. Enrollment committee chairman K B Naik said, “We have sent their certificates to the universities for verification and action will be taken based on the report”, Naik said. The law certificates produced by five are from Magadh University, Bihar and University of Allahabad.
Last week, Bengaluru Vidhana Soudha police arrested a fake lawyer from Athani town. He had furnished a law degree from Magadh University.
