Edu dept set to improve SSLC results in Dharwad
Hubballi: The education department is all set to improve the SSLC exam results for the academic year 2023–24. Dharwad poorly performed in SSLC exams last year and the district stood at 24th position in the state.The department has planned 29 programmes and the officials have prepared the programme list to improve the SSLC results. According to the list, several programmes will begin in July.After the SSLC results were declared, DDPI Shanamuk Swamy Keladimath held a meeting and reviewed how students are lagging behind in studies and discussed how to improve the results for the next examination. During the meeting, the department officials chalked out many programmes for 100% SSLC results next year.DDPI told TOI that the department officials have started to make a list of slow learner students. “After identifying the children, action will be taken to improve the studies of these students. Various programmes like morning and evening special classes, revision classes, and regular tests will be conducted and each month parents’ meetings will be called. Also, student details will be taken, children’s progress in the study will be reviewed each month and group study will be conducted. A format has been made and distributed to schools for collecting the information of every student,” he said.Keladimath said that every month chapter-wise quiz programme will be held in all schools. “Last batch students faced Covid-19 related issues so they did not do well in examination, but this academic year we are hopeful that the students will do extremely well in the annual examination. We will make efforts to get good results in upcoming examination,” he said.Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, deputy project coordinator, S M Hudedamani said, “We have brought some new programmes for the SSLC students. Soon one by one programmes will be implemented. All schools have been instructed to implement these programmes successfully to improve the SSLC results.”
